Psyc 203 Introduction to Cognitive Psychology
This course will provide an introduction to various topics within cognitive psychology, a relatively new branch of psychology (with most work coming from the last 50 years). This field offers countless insights into the nature of human (and non-human) behavior and we will touch on topics such as language, perception, attention, memory, imagery, connectionist networks, and decision-making. Given the overview format of this course we cannot delve too deeply into each topic, but we will spend more time on some to learn about how cognitive psychologists ask and answer specific research questions.
